Internships in a company

To gain more experience, students can take up an internship, during which they carry out a well-defined, supervised project for a company or organisation that belongs to the field of work of their study programme. On the one hand, acquired theoretical knowledge and competences are tested in practice and developed further. On the other hand, an internship allows the student, by means of a first professional experience, to develop a number of additional competences and attitudes that are important within the working field.

A research question that requires meticulous thinking, but that you just cannot get around to? Need a more in-depth analysis of a problem within your organisation?

Product Innovation Project – PiP

Product innovation Project (PiP) is an English course unit, in which an interdisciplinary team of students empathize with a (societal) challenge over the course of an academic year.

This challenge is provided by an external project sponsor (company, NGO, local government, etc.), for which the PiP team devises and works out a solution.

KU Leuven’s greenhouses at Campus Leuven (Arenberg) offer an innovative, future-oriented research and education facility, focused on high flexibility, professional support and sustainable technology. This infrastructure is operated by the Department of Biosystems, in joint management with the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering and the associated departments of Earth & Environmental Sciences and Microbial & Molecular Systems.

Microbiological water analyses and chemical analyses by ECOVO

The staff of Expertise Unit on Educational Provision (ECOVO) has built up many years of experience in microbiological and chemical analyses and – thanks to the university environment – they are constantly informed of the latest evolutions.

Third parties are welcome to contact ECOVO for advice and for certain microbiological water analyses and chemical analyses.
