Research in livestock genetics
General
Pigs are our main model organism and most of the research is focussed on this species. Both quantitative and molecular genetics research is conducted. Next to pigs, (sport)horses and sheep are studied, mainly from a quantitative viewpoint. Research on draught horses (Belgisch Trekpaard) will start in 2009 and also on health characters in sport horses.
