Research
CFC provides technical advice and infrastructure to support research activities for KU Leuven laboratories and research groups involved in all aspects of hard fruit research, ranging from production techniques, to disease control, to fruit quality and postharvest storage qualities.

Education
CFC provides students of the Faculty of Bioengineering with access to the facilities and expertises of contemporary hard fruit production, breeding and postharvest storage procedures both as part of undergraduate training programs as well as for Masters and postgraduate thesis work.

We create a bridge between fundamental research in the labs of the Department of Biosystems and the field, to valorise results prior to commercialisation.
CFC is one of 3 agro-technical departments of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, KU Leuven and is administered by the
Laboratory for Fruit Breeding and Biotechnology (LFBB).
