The solution to this problem is the establish­ment of a Flemish Network for Particle Technology (VNPT)

1. that brings together companies and research institutes with an interest in particle technology
2. which acts as central contact point for particle technological issues and upcoming events
3. which knows and understands the activities of its members so that companies and research institutes with common interests can be brought in contact
4. which develops instruments for stimulating synergies between companies and/or research institutes
5. which can assist enterprises in setting up innovation studies and projects and in finding funding
6. which overviews the state-of-the-art in particle technology, and therefore can inform companies and research centers about new possibilities
7. which maintains connections to international networks on particle technology
8. which can provide training for students and R&D scientists and engineers
9. which can summarize the needs of the target group in a policy document with which fundamental and applied research can be stimulated at the level of research institutes and at the level of the financing institutions.
